Berkley Gulp! Minnow Fishing Soft Bait

The Berkley Gulp! Minnow in 2.5" Smelt is one of my go-to soft baits for still water trout. I rig it on a jig head with a Wigglefin Action Disc in front and the combination is hard to beat — the disc adds erratic action while the Gulp! scent does the rest. The Smelt color is particularly effective on clear lakes where trout are keying on baitfish. Berkley's Gulp! formula releases significantly more scent than standard soft plastics, which makes a real difference in still water where trout have more time to inspect a bait. The one honest downside is durability — after a few fish or a lot of casts the bait can tear, so I keep extras rigged and ready. That said, when trout are being picky this is one of the first baits I reach for.
