Fishing beads are one of those things you do not know you need until your rig stops working right. When I run a slip float setup with bobber stoppers I always thread a bead onto the line between the stopper and the float. Without it the bobber stopper can dig into the end of the float and stick, which defeats the whole purpose of a slip float. One bead fixes that — it acts as a buffer so the stopper hits the bead instead of the float and everything slides cleanly. I use the 8mm red glow size and at 100 beads for under seven dollars you will have enough to last a long time. A small detail that keeps your float rig running the way it should.
