Thill Premium Weighted Floats 1 Inch Oval
Rating

A good float is one of the most underrated pieces of still water trout gear and the Thill Premium Weighted Float is what I use. My setup is simple — thread a bobber stopper onto my line first, then a fishing bead, then slide the float on, then rig my hook below it. The bobber stopper locks the float at whatever depth I want so my bait suspends right in the strike zone. When I need to adjust depth I just slide the stopper up or down without cutting anything. The weighted design casts well even with light rigs and the slip design means there is no resistance when a trout takes the bait and runs. Thill has been making quality floats for a long time and the 1 inch oval size is the right call for still water trout fishing where you want sensitivity without a bulky float spooking fish. At 4.5 stars and Amazon's Choice it holds up to its reputation.
